TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) in Hofheim am Taunus and Frankfurt am Main

  • Greater Safety Through Modern Tire Pressure Monitoring

The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) significantly enhances road safety. The built-in sensors continuously monitor your tires’ air pressure and alert you early on in the event of a pressure loss. This allows you to react in time and avoid potential risks.

There are two types of TPMS systems: direct and indirect.

Direct TPMS: In a direct system, a sensor is installed in each wheel to measure the actual tire pressure and, in some cases, the temperature as well. This data is transmitted to the vehicle in real time and displayed on the onboard computer. As a result, the system provides highly accurate and reliable monitoring.

Indirect TPMS The indirect system operates without additional tire pressure sensors. Instead, it detects pressure loss via the wheel speed sensors of the ABS system. A drop in tire pressure changes the tire’s rolling circumference, allowing the system to detect a potential pressure loss.
